Selma Rainey - Glass Art Iris Mini Stems

The latest addition to our ever-growing garden of forever flowers are beautiful irises.

Our miniature glass iris flowers have a gorgeous life-like appearance that has been created by painstakingly forming each petal and blending shades of blue-purple, amethyst, lavender and lilac.  Each flower is a slightly different shade of purple.  The long, grass-like leaves have also been hand-formed with an olive green glass.

Choose the size of bouquet that is right for you.  Please note that the vase is not included. Iris flowers are approximately 3cm x 4cm and the total length of the stem is 10-11cm from the top of the flower to the bottom of the wire stem. Leaves are 7-9cm in length.

About the Artist: Glass Artist, Selma Rainey of Rainey Designs, has created these miniature flowers by crafting each stem by hand, via the process of lampwork (method described below). 

Artistic Process: All glass flowers are made by hand, free-form (no molds used).  The lampwork technique has been used to create them, including melting Venetian glass over a specialised torch, sculpting various forms, then kiln-firing to ensure durability.  Complex techniques have been used to form realistic forms.  

Please note that these flowers are made to order, and take between 5 to 10 business days to make.
