Selma Rainey - Art Glass Mini Stems - Forget Me Nots

Well-known across the globe, these sweet little flowers are affectionately known as Forget Me Nots.  

You can order single stems or four of each type of flower (full blooms or buds).  Each flower measures approximately 15-19mm in diameter.  The buds are 7mm long.  Stems are 9cm long for all flower types.

About the Artist: Glass Artist, Selma Rainey of Rainey Designs, has created these miniature flowers by crafting each stem by hand, via the process of lampwork (method described below).  This includes blending varying shades of opaque and transparent blue glass for the centre disc of the flower and the petals, then five sunny yellow dots are carefully placed around the disc.  The  buds contain multiple shades of purple and blue, with swirls of grass green at their bases.

Artistic Process: All glass flowers are made by hand, free-form (no molds used).  The lampwork technique has been used to create them, including melting Venetian glass over a specialised torch, sculpting various forms, then kiln-firing to ensure durability.
