Sean Rainey - Brass Ornate Timepiece Window Earrings with Pearls

This pair of earrings with warm tones is an elegant addition to our timepiece range.  Featuring lovely teardrop windows and with exquisite design throughout, the earrings are finished beautifully with classic freshwater pearl drops.  The timepieces consist of jewelled vintage watch movements.

The frames are made from brass, heavily plated in silver, then antiqued.  The ear hooks are made from hypoallergenic surgical steel.  The watch movement is genuine vintage.

About the Artist: Sean has been making recycled jewellery for well over a decade.  As a child, he used to love building little car and plane models, and later on, he developed a penchant for gadgets.  This passion has now flowed into jewellery making.

Artistic Process:  Sean rescues found objects that would have been otherwise discarded and gives them new life as jewellery pieces.  Recycled components are usually in the form of intricate vintage timepieces and nostalgic coins from Aotearoa, but he has also used military buttons, metal milk tokens and even old bullets to give them a better life.  He uses his silversmithing skills to combine lovely recycled elements with  nature- themed charms and embellishments and finishes each piece by hand.
