These glass earrings are made using a lathe. A glass tube is mounted onto the lathe and continuously rotated while being heated with a torch. The glass softens and expands as air is blown into it, while the shape is carefully controlled by pushing and pulling with the lathe handle. Each earrings is formed through a repetitive process where consistent techniques and movements create unique variations.

Dimensions: The full length of the earring from the top of the hook to the bottom of the earring is approximately 6.5cm.  Each glass form is 3.3cm high x 2.2cm wide

About the Artist: Eiko of Studio A & Co. is a lampworker and crafts iewellery and blown vessels from borosilicate glass, using the flame of a torch to shape vibrant, functional works inspired by everyday life.

Artist Process: Made from tough, heat-resistant, dishwasher-safe glass for easy daily use.
